Make an impact, leave an impression
St Leonard’s Hall is a stately nineteenth-century mansion within the grounds of the Pollock Estate and with the iconic Arthur’s Seat as its backdrop.
Available for hire as a whole venue or on a room-only basis, its flexibility is as attractive as its stunning architecture. Seven meeting rooms of varying sizes, plus free on-site parking and state-of-the-art hybrid meeting technology make it the perfect venue for a range of meetings, brainstorms or training sessions.

Lighting the way, day or night
The spacious mid-century South Hall Complex is flooded with natural light during the day and features thematic lighting in the evening, making it an ideal setting for conferences, exhibitions and poster sessions. Thanks to its proximity to the John McIntyre Conference Centre, it works well for exhibitions and poster board sessions with catering.
Host up to 320 guests theatre-style or 200 for dinner, with the spacious foyer (perfect for registration) offering further flexibility for conferences, meetings or events.

A gift to Edinburgh, a treat for Delegates
The McEwan Hall was presented to the University in 1897 by William McEwan as a ceremonial hall for graduations and as a gift to the people of Edinburgh.
This iconic Grade A listed building was designed by Sir Rowand Anderson, with lavish interiors by William Palin. Construction was completed in 1894, but it took another three years to complete the interior designs, the centrepiece being the 15 beautifully painted mural panels that make up the vast dome.
A painstaking multi-million pound refurbishment has restored much of the intricacy to its original beauty and created a modern, superbly equipped space, with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and accessible facilities.
Available as an exclusive-use venue only, McEwan Hall’s tiered auditorium can seat up to 1,139 delegates, while the new expansive basement provides capacity for 433 people. There are additional five fully equipped seminar rooms.

Breathtakingly elegant, infinitely Impressive
When William Playfair was commissioned to complete unfinished university buildings in 1817, the stunning barrel-vaulted neoclassical ceiling of the 190-ft library hall was his masterpiece.
Located within the Old College quadrangle, the stunning library now provides space to host up to 250 delegates theatre-style, 200 dinner guests or a reception for 450 people. The ground floor of the Old College contains four additional event rooms, making it suitable for meetings, large presentations, conferences, exclusive dinners, and celebrations.

A versatile space, a social hub
40 George Square is part of the George Square Complex, in the heart of the Old Town Campus. Following a £6.9 million refurbishment, it offers a contemporary teaching and social space around a sunken courtyard, and works well in conjunction with large lecture theatre and break-outs in 50 George Square.
It boasts five seminar rooms, all of which contain state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment plus additional foyer space which is ideal for catering and exhibitions. Further lecture theatre capacity for up to 350 pax is also available within the venue. Access to the new café and garden room makes this a great place to meet, share, learn, and socialise.
Available out of term time.

Open space for opening minds
Appleton Tower is the centrepiece of the University of Edinburgh’s George Square Complex and offers five state-of-the-art lecture theatres, each seating 200 to 300 delegates, plus a teaching studio, seminar spaces, and an extensive concourse area.
The Appleton Tower concourse space is particularly suited to exhibitions and poster displays, making this an ideal venue for lectures and presentations, or as a breakout space for events held elsewhere in the George Square area.
Modernist architecture for a top performance
Gordon Aikman Lecture Theatre is a stand-alone theatre that can seat 481 delegates and features a large reception area with space for catering or a bar set up.
With a large stage and state-of-the art audio-visual kit, it is an ideal venue for lectures, presentations, music events, and theatre productions, especially during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Take your place amongst music history
Immediately adjacent to the McEwan Hall, the Reid Concert Hall is one of the earliest surviving purpose-built musical museums in the world. Its tiered seating for 220 pax is now a unique space for hosting meetings and conferences as well as musical performances and recitals.
The Reid Studio in the basement is fully equipped to make high-quality recordings of performances in the Reid Concert Hall.
